The recipients were trained for 6 months in various trades, in line with the foundation's youth empowerment scheme. They acquired useful skills in the areas of catering, mobile phone repairs, hair dressing, generator repairs, sewing etc.

A cheque of N9, 300, 000 (nine million, three hundred thousand naira) was presented to the 93 beneficiaries as seed money to help them set up their own businesses.

The founder of SEOF, Sir Emeka Offor restated that the reason he came up with this initiative in the first place was to minimize crime, and empower youths to be self-reliant. The next batch will commence training next month, and will also be similarly empowered on passing out.

Also, at the occasion the widows' cooperative societies of SEOF were not left out, as the Sir Emeka Offor Foundation shared over 2000 bags of rice to the widows, as is the tradition these past four years.
