Sir Emeka Offor Hosts Rotarians

Sir Emeka Offor on the 1st of November hosted the hierarchy of Rotary from Districts 9125, 9140 and 9125 at his country home in Oraifite, Anambra State.
The three Districts had requested to pay a courtesy call on Sir Offor to appreciate his donations to Rotary International. Sir Offor had donated a sum of $250,000 for Peace Studies at Chulalongkorn University in Bangkok, Thailand and another $250,000 for Polio Eradication. Rotarians present at the occasion included; Bob Ogbuagu (Past District Governor- PDG), Gabriel Toby (former Deputy Governor of Rivers State), Ben Aghazu (PDG), Buchi Onuoha (District Governor- DG), Felix Obadan (DG), Joshua Hassan (Regional District Coordinator), Yinka Babalola, to mention a few. The Rector and Rotaractors (students) of the Federal Polytechnic, Oko were also present.
Rotarians at the occasion praised the vision and uncommon courage of Sir Emeka Offor in making the donations which have made him a member of the revered Arch C Klumph Society (AKS) of Rotary International. A feat according to them, only a few black men have achieved in the annals of Rotary. They encouraged Sir Offor to keep up the good work.
Sir Emeka Offor was decorated with the Rotary’s pin, as a member of AKS. He was also decked by PDGs and DGs for his humanitarian services and formally presented with a membership certificate as a Rotarian. An “End Polio Now” pendant was also festooned on him as an ambassador of Polio Eradication.
Sir Offor thanked all present for the honour done to him. He promised not to relent in his efforts at helping to alleviate the plight of the less privileged. Speaking further, he informed of Chrome Group’s board decision to dedicate ten percent (10%) of its profit to charity. He announced his intention to donate another $250,000 for Guinea Worm Eradication and another $250,000 for Women Empowerment Programs of the Rotary International. He also promised to sponsor the Charter of a Rotary Club in Ekwusigo LGA. He finally donated the sum of Five million Naira to Rotary Club, Awka G.R.A, for the execution of their projects as enunciated.
The evening was not without socials as the rave of the moment FLAVOUR entertained the audience with his soulful music.
